What we do

Removal, trimming, stumps, storm cleanup.

Five services covered by one crew in Battle Ground and across Clark County. Every job is quoted free, on-site.

Tree Removal

We take down trees that are dead, leaning, storm-damaged, or just too close to the house. Tight backyards, trees near power lines, big Douglas firs — we plan the drop, work it down in sections when we have to, and haul everything out clean.

  • Full take-down of dead, dying, or hazard trees
  • Sectional removal for trees near houses, sheds, or fences
  • Crane-assist on big firs and cedars when access is tight
  • Limbs chipped on-site, logs cut and hauled
  • Yard raked, driveway swept, debris off the lawn
  • Stump grinding bundled in if you want it

A lot of Clark County properties have 80-100 foot Doug firs leaning over the roof. We've seen what a wind storm off the Gorge can do to one of those — better to take it down on a calm day than wait for it to come down on its own.

Tree Trimming & Pruning

Branches scraping the roof, limbs hanging over the driveway, a maple that hasn't been touched in ten years — we trim it back the right way. Clean cuts, the right amount off, no topping.

  • Crown thinning to let light and wind through
  • Deadwood and broken limb removal
  • Roof and gutter clearance pruning
  • Driveway and walkway clearance
  • Power line clearance (on customer-owned trees)
  • Shaping for ornamentals and fruit trees

Trimming around homes in Battle Ground and Brush Prairie is mostly about keeping branches off the roof and away from the power drop, and thinning out big bigleaf maples that have gotten heavy and uneven.

Stump Grinding & Removal

Stump in the lawn from a tree someone else took down? We grind it out below grade so you can put grass, a flowerbed, or a slab right over the top of it.

  • Grinding 4-6 inches below grade for lawn
  • Deeper grinding when you want to replant or pour
  • Surface roots ground down where they're tripping you up
  • Grindings backfilled, leveled, or hauled off
  • Access through narrow gates (we bring the small grinder)
  • Multiple stumps in one trip

Old fir stumps in established Hazel Dell and Salmon Creek yards are some of the toughest grinds in the county. We've got the gear for it.

Emergency & Storm Damage

Tree on the house, limb across the driveway, a fir snapped off in last night's wind — call. We answer the phone and get out the same day when we can. Insurance claim work, full cleanup.

  • Same-day response for fallen trees and broken limbs
  • Trees on houses, garages, fences, vehicles
  • Limbs blocking driveways or roads
  • Hangers (broken limbs caught in the canopy)
  • Documentation and photos for insurance claims
  • Tarp-and-secure if a full repair has to wait

Gorge wind events and the occasional ice storm keep us busy every winter — if a tree's down on your place, don't try to cut it yourself. Call.

Tree Health & Arborist Care

A tree that's losing leaves, dropping branches, or leaning more than it used to needs a real look. We'll tell you straight whether it can be saved, what it'll take, or whether the safer call is removal.

  • On-site assessment of declining or leaning trees
  • Identification of common PNW issues — root rot, bigleaf maple decline, fir bark beetle
  • Watch for emerald ash borer (now in the region) on ash trees
  • Cabling and bracing for split or weak unions
  • Health pruning to slow decline
  • Honest recommendation: save it or take it down

Western red cedars dying back from the top, big leaf maples thinning out, ash trees with bark damage — we see it across the county. Catching it early sometimes saves the tree.

Common questions

The stuff people ask before calling.

Have a question we didn't cover? Text or call (360) 295-2880 — happy to talk through it.

How much does it cost to remove a tree?

Every tree is different — height, species, how close it is to the house, and what kind of access we have all change the work. That is why we come look at it first and give you a free written estimate. Fill out the form or call and we will get a number to you fast.

How do I get an estimate?

Send us a quick note through the form on this page, or call. Tell us roughly where the tree is, what kind it is if you know, and what you want done. We will set a time to come look at it — usually within a few days — and you get the price before any work starts.

Do you handle storm damage and emergency calls in Clark County?

Yes. When a tree comes down on a house, a fence, or a driveway, call us and we will get out as fast as we can — often the same day. We will tarp and secure things, clear the debris, and help you with photos and paperwork for an insurance claim.

Will you grind the stump too?

We can. Stump grinding is a separate service from removal, so it shows up as its own line on the estimate. Most folks do them together — it is cheaper than calling someone back out — but it is your call.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, we are insured for the kind of work tree crews do — general liability and workers comp on the crew. That protects you, your property, and our people. We will provide proof of insurance before the job if you want to see it.

When is the best time of year to trim a tree in the Pacific Northwest?

Most trees here do best with structural pruning in late winter before they leaf out, but light cleanup work can happen year-round. Storm damage or dangerous limbs do not wait — we handle those any time. We will tell you what makes sense for your specific tree when we come out.

Can you trim branches off the power line going to my house?

The line from the pole to your house — the drop — is usually the homeowner's responsibility, and yes, we can do that work safely. The main lines along the street belong to the utility, and those are theirs to clear. If you are not sure which is which, we will sort it out on the estimate visit.

What do you do with the wood and debris?

We chip the limbs on site and haul the chips and logs off your property. If you want to keep firewood-size rounds, just tell us and we will leave them stacked. Either way, your yard gets cleaned up before we leave.
